About Us

Make Us Your Home Away from Home

At Riverside Manor, you will feel the difference the moment you visit our campus, meet any of our staff members or reach out to us in any way.

Founded in 1980 to serve as the post hospital care leader within Tuscarawas County, Riverside Manor is uniquely owned by 40 individuals who are part of our local community, including Dwayne Shepherd who has served as Administrator for over 30 years. Our mindful operational structure allows us to proactively respond to the ever-changing health care needs identified within our community and allows us to create innovative, personalized and state-of-the-art programs that foster enhanced quality of life and exceptional outcomes……close to home.

Our personalized approach to care delivery is a reflection of our ability to recruit, hire and retain the finest and most compassionate staff members that demonstrate our mission, vision and values within their interactions with others.

Our Resident First Commitment

Many of our staff members have been part of the Riverside “family” for over 20 years which is a contributing factor to our high resident satisfaction scores, our history of exceptional CMS star ratings and quality outcomes. We pride ourselves in being the skilled nursing provider of choice by hospitals and physicians within Tuscarawas County and neighboring communities. We believe that providing care in close proximity to family, loved ones and friends is vital to achieving and maintaining the highest level of wellness. Our leadership is actively present, responsive and highly involved in support of our resident-centered philosophy: “Our Hearts……Your Home. We are committed to open communication, understanding your expectations and honoring your unique story. We believe in and demonstrate a team approach to care.

Riverside Manor offers a campus model of specialty programs and services that combines state-of-the-art practices, innovation and technology in combination with our foundation of exceptional care. We pride ourselves in maintaining an atmosphere of warm hospitality, comfort and with touches of “home”.

Riverside Manor Currently Offers:

Post-Hospital Transitional Care

Transition Rehab-To-Home provides specialized clinical and comprehensive rehabilitation services that serve as a bridge between the hospital and home. Under the direction of your attending physician, our clinical, therapy and support team are focused on your individualized goals, progress and increased confidence during your recovery.

Comprehensive Rehabilitation

Exceptional Inpatient & Outpatient Services

Riverside Manor believes that personalized rehabilitation services are vital to recovery, independence and quality of life.

We also believe that therapy services are most successful when they are delivered close to home and involve family members and key caregivers as vital supporters for progress. In 2009, we made a strategic decision to build a state-of-the-art 6,000 sq. foot rehabilitation gym to serves as the hub of our comprehensive and integrated therapy services with both inpatient and outpatient services available. Therapy services are offered on a 7-day a week basis in accordance with physician orders with evaluations immediately conducted upon transfer from the hospital setting to ensure there are no gaps in providing treatment or loss of functioning. We are especially proud of our outstanding team comprised of approximately 20 licensed therapists supported by licensed therapy assistants who have expertise, certifications and additional training in many of the acute and chronic conditions we treat.

Extended Care

Meadows Extended Stay Neighborhood provides long-term care options that focus on chronic disease management and optimal wellness. Pain management and hospice services are arranged in collaboration with outstanding local specialists chosen by you.

Memory Care

Reflections Neighborhood is a safety-enhanced and enrichment-based program for individuals coping with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Our staff has specialized training in memory care and many are on the path to become dementia certified. Their skills are grounded in compassion, patience and a true “understanding” of the disease process and the impact it can have on family members, loved ones and caregivers. Respite opportunities are also available to provide much needed caregiver breaks with no minimum stay requirement.
